Biography

Sara’s fascination with mystical and visionary writing was an unsurprising outcome of her immersion in Persian literature. She brings this interest to her research on medieval English mystical narratives. Sara is also deeply intrigued by historical plagues and pandemics. Her work explores the different stories people tell themselves in different parts of the world to make sense of global crises and new diseases, and the ways in which these stories vary, travel, and transform. In addition to Hidden Stories, she has been a Research Assistant for several other multidisciplinary projects such as the Global Past Research Initiative.
